I had a long and reoccurring discussion with someone about "ethical facts," during which I posed the example of "slavery is wrong." While the person agreed that it is wrong, he said that he doesn't believe in "ethical facts" because they are based on opinions. The second definition of facts that you gave is exactly why I feel this is an ethical fact. I want to slyly play this video for him and see if he comes to understand the idea that not all facts are "definitions."

I love the fact that Clint's a theist. it's great to shake the fundamental assumptions of people. It makes them really think about what they believe and why. Not all atheists are bitter, old, white guys. And not all theists are young, dumb and full of ... well you know the saying. There are still great discussions to be had. E.g. we never observe "new features" evolving we only see slight adaptions from existing features or we see degeneration, losing information there are also doubts about the probability calculation when it comes to change protein evolution (e.g. how many random changes you need to get from one functional protein to another one) or systems that need to evolve at the same time (let alone the DNA + protein + lipid etc needs to come at the same time) it is interesting that you didnt pick stephen meyers.
